Cholakian Ltd’s bedrock has been her upholstery arm of the business. Our senior upholsterer have been with us for over 25 years, gaining experience in traditional upholstering techniques and specializing in the upholstery of period, antique furniture and modern pieces. Our other upholsterers also have a great experience in upholstering techniques and add to the quality of work which we produce.
From sofas and chairs to footstools and headboards, our highly skilled upholsterers make beautiful upholstered furniture. Every care is taken to upholster a piece in the way the maker would have wished it to look at the time it was crafted.
Traditional Upholstery
We work with all types of antique furniture, using traditional materials including stuff and stitch horsehair stuffing, cotton padding and traditional style springs. Nearly every piece is finished to the white calico stage before using the final fabric.
We ensure that the authenticity of each piece is always maintained. More modern methods can also be employed as per the clients' requests.
Re-Cover
This service is used when furniture does not require to be fully reupholstered. I.e. the pieces interior support structure is sound but the outside material only needs changing. At Cholakian Ltd we are confident that are skills will make your furniture look marvellous again, as once it looked originally.
Whatever the choice we are always very happy to advise clients on the best course of action, which is in keeping with the style of the piece whether antique and modern.
